PRESIDENT MUSEVENI AWARDS OUTGOING FAWE UGANDA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITH A MEDAL

 

 

The President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni decorating Ms. Christine Semambo Sempebwa with a medal during the International Women’s Day Celebrations.

The President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has awarded Ms. Christine Semambo Sempebwa, the outgoing Executive Director of Forum for African Women Educationalists Uganda Chapter (FAWE Uganda) with a medal for her contribution towards Education and Sustainable development. The awards ceremony took place on March 8th, 2018 during celebrations to mark the International Women’s Day Commemorations.

Christine is a Ugandan female with a lustrous career spanning over 36 years, during which time she has touched thousands of lives of people through her work with girls, women, youth, persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable communities. She comes with a wealth of experience in Education, Literacy and Adult Education, HIV and AIDs, Poverty Reduction and Empowerment of Communities, Reproductive Health, Peace and Conflict Resolution, promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Ugandan schools.

Christine has previously won various awards in different disciplines. Her interest in literacy won her Award for Excellence, from the American Embassy, Kampala, for winning the 2nd prize in the 2003 national essay contest to commemorate African American History Month, GIZ AGRUPIN, New Faces New Voices, FAWE Uganda, Rotary Club of Ssese, Parents Concern, Watoto Church and Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial service
