Alumni give back to the community

FAWE Uganda alumni continue to impact communities in various ways. On Saturday, August 20th 2022, the team comprising FAWE Uganda staff members and alumni set out to Mulimira zone, Bukoto region and provided health talks, the importance of educating young people to the community members and career guidance to learners as well as carried out a cleaning exercise.
The team from FAWE Uganda also donated items to the community members and these included scholastic materials (pens, pencils, mathematical sets, crayons and books), cleaning equipment (gumboots, wheelbarrows, hoes, spades, brooms, rakes, gloves), sanitary pads, soap and salt.
The community give-back activity provided an opportunity for the neighbourhood community to know the location, work and impact of FAWE Uganda over the past 25 years.
Participants included students in school, children out of school, leaders like Councilors and LCs, parents and other key stakeholders in the community like KCCA officials that spearheaded the cleaning of the Mulimira zone, one of the activities of the days.
The chief guest for the activity was His Worship the Lord Mayor of Nakawa Division Mr Paul Mugambe who committed on behalf of KCCA to continue sensitizing the community on issues of hygiene as well as supporting efforts to keep the communities clean. He also thanked FAWE Uganda for the generosity and effort portrayed during the entire outreach.
