Research

FAWE Uganda has undertaken various studies so as to avail information that consequently informs policies. These include:
    1. (2016) Linkage between teenage pregnancy and school drop outs.
    2. (2020) Situation of, and Impact of COVID 19 on school going girls and young women – age 10-24.
    3. (2020) The Situation of, and Impact of COVID-19 on school going refugee girls and young women in Uganda
    4. (2021) Impact of COVID 19 on the Education and Employability of Persons with Disability in East Africa (Working together with Zizi Afrique in Kenya and Tabora University in Tanzania.
    5. (2023) Post COVID 19 Situational Analysis on Access and Retention for Learners with emphasis on Girls in Primary and Secondary Schools in Uganda.
Our research has contributed to the development of national policies including;
    • Gender in education policy
    • Guidelines on the Role of Senior Women and Male Teachers
    • Revised guidelines on the Prevention and Management of teenage pregnancy and re-entry of teenage girls and young mothers into school settings in Uganda.
