“There is always light at every tunnel end” Esther Sunday one of the many FAWE Uganda beneficiaries starts her story. Hers is a story of hope that started from Bukwo District.
Her dreams were almost shattered when she was unable to advance her education after Senior Six. FAWE Uganda representatives visited her community in 2018 and she revealed her desire to study and her dreams for the future which had been limited due to lack of funds.
FAWE Uganda offered to support her, provided career guidance and she joined Busitema University where she pursued and graduated with a Bachelors in Education, Languages, English and Literature in English.
Esther is currently the acting Head Teacher of Dream High school, a community school in Bukwo. Through this leadership opportunity, Esther believes she is positively transforming her community by enabling other girls access education and fulfil their dreams.
Esther is grateful for the support FAWE Uganda in partnership with Mastercard Foundation gave her.
“They mentored and supported me financially and I hardly lacked while at school. I really thank FAWE Uganda and Mastercard Foundation for giving me a chance to receive quality education. May God bless you as you continue supporting girls and boys to access higher education and realize their potential.”
