FAWE UGANDA STAFF BURSARY SCHEME
On the 9th of September 2018, FAWE Uganda Staff Members discussed and agreed to start monthly contributions to support one or two girls to access, stay and complete school. All the staff members present in the meeting consented to the idea that finance shall do monthly deductions for the scheme.
Proposed Criteria
A. Students Application Procedure for candidates joining secondary school
A handwritten application clearly explaining the need for a bursary, indicating the name of the parent/guardian, the village of residence and the Sub-county.
A recommendation letter from her/his primary school headteacher
A letter from the local Council 1 (LC 1) of the area of residence.
A copy of the most recent Primary Leaving Education (PLE) and UCE result slip
A map of the applicant’s home for ease of location during the verification exercise.
Active telephone contact for easy reach.
B. Who is eligible for the staff bursary scheme?
In order to qualify for the bursary, one must fall into the following category:
Applicant must be a girl child who must have passed PLE / UCE with first or second grade only.
Applicant must be joining senior one or five in 2019.
The degree of need is paramount. Must be from an economically disadvantaged background. We look for very needy girls who without support cannot join school due to financial constraints.
Children who are orphans, physically disabled, affected by HIV/AIDS and those who have excelled in Science and Mathematics shall be given priority.
